Our Story & Values
Janco Foods began in 1955 when our grandfather, Nick Mousoudakis, a recent immigrant from Greece, started delivering products to local Houston restaurants from his home. Many of his earliest customers were fellow Greek restaurateurs, and his commitment to service quickly built a loyal following.
In 1971, our father, Ted Mousoudakis, took the reins and laid the foundation for Janco Foods as it operates today. With just one driver, one warehouse employee, and himself, he steadily grew the company into a respected broadline foodservice distributor across the Houston area.
By the mid-1990s, his three sons—Nick, Jimmy, and Alex—joined the business after graduating college. Together, they expanded Janco Foods into one of the leading distributors in Southeast Texas.
Today, Janco Foods operates from a 50,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art, climate-controlled facility with a fleet of more than 15 refrigerated trucks and a team of 40 employees. We proudly serve restaurants, bakeries, schools, caterers, and a wide range of foodservice establishments across Texas.
Still family-owned and operated by the three brothers alongside their father Ted, Janco Foods remains committed to exceptional customer service, quality products, and modern, innovative solutions—with ambitious plans for the future.
